Planning

Every project begins with an in-depth consultation and usually followed by one to two planning meetings. We like to begin by learning more about your living rituals and reviewing your wishlist. We can work with your designer, refer you to a third party designer or help you refine your plan if you already have a general idea of what you want. Projects begin after plans and renderings are approved.

We are a professional outfit and appreciate serious inquiries from prospective clients who have carefully considered their budget prior to an initial meeting. To prepare for a successful project we will want to understand your financial commitment so that we can help you manage your budget and make sure your expectations are consistent with labor and material costs.

We believe successful projects depend on good communication and clear expectations from both parties regarding cost and completion time. It is not uncommon for clients to expand the scope of their project once it begins. We can usually absorb the extra work but it may require us to extend the completion date or plan the additional work for a later time.

Cost

Our renovations typically range in price from $40,000 to $1,00,000. The scope of the project and quality of materials have the greatest impact on cost.

We are thrifty and always look for ways to help our clients get the most out of their budget but when costs have to be reduced we believe it is better to forego features than to sacrifice quality.

Payments

Before work begins we require a deposit to cover the first phase of the project which include planning, renderings and demolition. Subsequent payments are expected as certain parts of the project are completed - anywhere from five to ten payments with the final payment upon completion and satisfaction of the work.

Timeframe and Disruption

Kitchen and bath projects take anywhere from 4 to 10 weeks to complete with larger renovations taking up to 6 months. We know how disruptive kitchen and bath remodeling can be (when our clients continue living in the home as we are working) and take great care to minimize dust, noise and inconvenience. We protect floors and control dust with temporary barriers and exhaust fans. We typically do not use dumpsters. Construction debris is loaded into a trailer and hauled away as needed.
